Philosophy

To pursue maximum performance and aesthetic harmony, crafting modern-style custom frames with large-diameter head tubes, titanium tubing, and 3D-printed components.

About

Founded in Tokyo in 2003 by Latvian-born framebuilder Vladimir Balahovsky, Equilibrium Cycleworks builds high-end bespoke bicycles combining artistic aesthetic with cutting-edge engineering. Specializing in titanium, stainless steel, and titanium-carbon hybrid construction, the atelier creates custom road and all-road machines featuring TIG welding, 3D-printed titanium lugs, and custom anodized finishes.

Founder Story

Born in Latvia, Vladimir Balahovsky studied art as a youth before moving to Japan and learning the craft of bicycle frame building. Combining an Eastern European artistic sensibility with Japanese technical precision, he established Equilibrium Cycleworks in Tokyo to push the boundaries of custom titanium and hybrid frame design.
