Philosophy
Geometry design is just the beginning; individual ride style must dictate selecting proper tube diameters, wall thickness, and custom in-house tube butting to achieve the ideal ride quality.
About
Founded in 2012 by master framebuilder Yoshiyuki Nishikawa, Kualis Cycles crafts bespoke titanium and steel bicycles in Wakayama, Japan. Drawing on extensive experience building thousands of frames at Level in Tokyo and Seven Cycles in the United States, Nishikawa combines custom tube-butting and precise TIG welding to tailor every frame's ride quality. Each build represents high-end metallic craftsmanship engineered specifically for the cyclist's style and geometry.
Founder Story
Yoshiyuki Nishikawa started his career as an architect before transitioning to frame building at Level in Tokyo from 2002 to 2006. He then served for seven years as a frame builder at Seven Cycles in Massachusetts before establishing Kualis Cycles in the US in 2012, later relocating his workshop to Wakayama, Japan in 2016.
